Historic Properties Recovery Fund for Mississippi
|
Hurricane Katrina is one of the greatest human tragedies in the nation’s history – but it also could be one of the greatest cultural disasters America has ever experienced and the greatest that Mississippi has suffered. Many historic buildings on the Mississippi Gulf Coast have been destroyed; however, many remain and these represent the best of traditional coastal architecture. Many of these historic buildings are heavily damaged and in danger of being torn down in the clean-up efforts. If we are to save what few remaining resources we have left we must act quickly to stabilize these endangered buildings. If you would like to help save Mississippi’s coastal architecture for the future please consider giving to the Historic Properties Recovery Fund. Your contribution will be used immediately for temporary stabilization, technical assistance for property owners, and public education.
