To help raise awareness about the most historically significant threatened places in the state, the Mississippi Heritage Trust will release its next 10 Most Endangered Historic Places list in 2009.  The 10 Most list has been produced by MHT since 1999.  The 2009 list will be unveiled in the form of a photographic exhibit in downtown Jackson in the spring of 2009. 

Nomination forms for the 2009 list are now available and can be downloaded by clicking here.  All nomination forms for the 2009 list must be postmarked by November 3, 2008 to be considered for the 2009 list.

The 10 Most list is compiled from nominations submitted by the public to MHT. Selections are based on the significance of the site to the community, state or nation, as well as the nature and immediacy of the threat to the property, such as development pressure or neglect. A jury of ten Mississippians will carefully review the submitted materials and collectively reach a consensus regarding the endangered places for 2009.
